The DEMON® system was initially used for highly concentrated wastewater with the aim of pretreatment (typical efficiency 80 - 90%) and leading the pretreated water back to the main plant.

Specifically in industrial applications initially the carbon (BOD) is eliminated, and subsequently in a further stage the nitrogen is removed. In the DEMON® system carbon and nitrogen can be eliminated very efficiently and economically in a single process step.

While previous applications were restricted to wastewater concentrations> 500 mg / l, now also low contaminated waste water (> 50 mg N / l) is advantageously treated with the DEMON® system.
